Everything ClearCut does

Built for evidence, not opinions.

Seven capability areas, from script import through a reproducible clearance report. Every one designed so a human stays accountable and the record survives scrutiny.

Script ingestion

Every draft becomes a permanent record.

Import Fountain, Final Draft, or pasted text. ClearCut parses the screenplay into stable elements and saves an immutable version the workflow never overwrites.

  • Three parsersFountain, FDX, and paste, each deterministic. PDF is rejected until a deterministic parser is configured.
  • Stable spansScenes, characters, and dialogue get identities that survive rewrites.
  • Coloured stockWhite pages, then blue, pink, yellow — the film convention for revisions.
Detection & evidence

Live sources, full provenance, conflicts intact.

Gemini detects items across ten clearance categories. Parallel retrieves current sources with authority tiers and retrieval timestamps. Disagreement is shown, never smoothed over.

  • Ten categoriesBrands, people, places, music, quotes, names, privacy, products, insignia, artwork.
  • Complete provenanceURL, retrieval time, excerpt, publisher class, stance, query identity, snapshot ID.
  • Zero evidence is unresolvedA failed search creates a review item — never a clear result.
Workflow & collaboration

Every call has a name, a version, and a reason.

Five fixed roles with backend-enforced authorization. Assignments, due dates, threaded comments, and governed decisions that commit with their audit event in one transaction.

  • Fixed rolesOwner, Admin, Editor, Reviewer, Viewer. Not UI-only gating.
  • Governed decisionsVerify, rule out, refer, rewrite — each with rationale and audit.
  • Threaded discussionReplies, edit history, @mentions, and system action entries in one timeline.
Revisions & selective rescan

A rewrite never edits the old copy.

Upload a revised draft and ClearCut commits it as the next immutable version, diffs it passage by passage, and re-checks only what changed — everything you settled stays settled.

  • Immutable versionsA revision is a new version with a recorded predecessor. Earlier drafts are never overwritten.
  • Selective re-scanOnly modified and added passages re-run. Untouched evidence carries forward with its original provenance.
  • Confirmation requiredCarried evidence is marked for human confirmation; a prior decision stays attached to the version that made it.
Reports & export

A package your lawyer can actually use.

Generation freezes every item, cited source, conflict, and human decision into one self-contained document, bound to a SHA-256 hash of its canonical manifest. Release is a separate human attestation. The released document never silently changes.

  • Frozen snapshotsPost-release changes cannot alter a released report.
  • Full evidence chainPer item: category, status, every claim with source URL, publisher, authority tier, stance, and quoted excerpt — plus conflicts, decisions, and open items disclosed rather than hidden.
  • Deterministic HTMLOne print-ready HTML file, byte-identical for identical input. Generated PDF output is not implemented; print to PDF from the browser.
Security & governance

Protected rules only a person can change.

Permissions, approval policy, category definitions, source-authority tiers, and legal-boundary language are human-only and Owner-governed. No automated process touches them.

  • Same-transaction auditEvery governed action commits with its immutable AuditEvent.
  • Tenant isolationOrganization and project scope enforced in repositories, not just routes.
  • Hardened uploadsMagic-byte validation and FDX entity blocking on every import.
AI trust & evaluation

The system grades its own work — and shows you.

A separate judge model scores ten dimensions. Deterministic gates run first and a high score never overrides a blocker. Improvements go through regression, shadow, and canary with automatic rollback.

  • Ten judged dimensionsRecall, grounding, authority, conflict, uncertainty, rewrites, re-scan, legal boundary, efficiency.
  • Deterministic gates firstBlockers cannot be overridden by a good score.
  • Bounded learningOnly query phrasing, examples, prompts, and preferences. Never permissions or policy.
